I work with family systems and cognitive behavioral skills. I treat each person as an individual and assist them in developing their own individualized treatment approach and coping skills.

I come to Miracles Healing Centers after fourteen years in my second career in private mental health practice. I worked for many years in the public realm of social work and social work management as well as being a mental health counselor and consultant. Old behaviors often get in the way, keeping us from becoming the person we want to be. I believe the client is the expert in identifying areas for clinical attention. This means that not only will you learn new skills, but can put those skills to use in between sessions to become the person you were destined to be.

I spent many years working with adults, teens, children, and families. I have expertise in providing therapeutic services for active duty, retired military and military families.

Veterans and warriors have many reasons for seeking clinical attention that are due to their direct combat experiences, Traumatic Brain Injuries, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder to mention two major ones, and importantly reintegration into their families and communities after long and multiple deployments. This is a powerful healing approach that has demonstrated positive results in the treatment of many disorders, but specifically for trauma related experiences and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

I am also a skilled educator and trainer. In addition, I have provided clinical supervision and instruction for a large number of provisionally licensed clinical social workers working toward full licensure. My experiences include coordinating services and providing counseling in a variety of settings, including primary care, inpatient and outpatient agencies, and hospice care.

Life is a journey of self-discovery, healing, and growth. I practice from a person-centered approach in order to meet you where you are at in your life. I also utilize interventions that are specifically designed to assist you in meeting your goals with a focus on Dialectic Behavioral Therapy DBT. I am passionate about supporting you on your journey and consider it an honor to be part of the discovery and healing process. Be well! Thank you for checking out our page. I am originally from South Carolina but currently live in the Lake Norman area.

I hold a Master of Arts in Professional Mental Health Counseling from the Webster University in Columbia, South Carolina and have been serving children, adolescents, adults, and families for the past seven years. As your counselor, I am here to support you in making meaning, creating comfort, and uncovering resources to help you be your best self.

Taking an evidenced-based, client-centered, and existentially informed approach, I aim to provide a safe and supportive space where we can collaborate and work at your own pace to help you reach your goals. I work with individuals from a variety of backgrounds on issues including depression, anxiety, stress, trauma, relationship challenges, grief and loss, career transitions, and other mental health and life concerns.

I have experience working with children, adolescents, adults, families, and groups. I have served clients in the outpatient, in-home, and hospital settings. I have experience working with clients that have Severe Persistent Mental Illness and children with behavioral and defiance issues. In addition to more traditional counseling techniques, I also utilize art, nature-based, and experiential therapies to help clients work through distress and build resiliency.

It is an honor for me to do this work. We hope to hear from you soon to see how we can best help you. Therapy should be a collaborative process where you are guiding your healing process as I walk alongside you, providing interventions, strategies, and new skills to assist you in achieving your goals.

One of the biggest lessons I have learned is that we do not exist in a bubble, there is a cause and effect that occurs in every relationship big and small which can have a ripple response at home, work, friendships, church, and school.

When trauma occurs, it becomes a profound development not only on the individual but also their loved ones and can affect every aspect of their lives.

I specialize in working with adolescents, families, and couples to communicate and relate in a more effective, harmonious manner. Thanks for taking the time to invest in yourself and learn more about me. I am a North Carolinian, born and raised. Prior to obtaining my masters, I enjoyed a career in retail management and as the Director of Children and Youth for an area church.

When not seeing clients I love spending time with family, friends, and traveling to see this beautiful world. Feel free to contact me to explore if we are a good fit to work together towards your healing! Hello there and welcome to Miracles Counseling Centers. Congratulations in taking the first step in self- discovery, enhancing your life and choosing to check out my bio!

I have been practicing at Miracles for 8 years while finding it very rewarding. I previously worked as a counselor and counseling supervisor in both New Jersey and New York City for 20 years. I have experience in counseling children, adolescents and adults with a variety of diagnoses, while working in private practice, inpatient and outpatient settings.

I am trained treating depression, anxiety, eating disorders, attention deficit disorder both in children and adults, and conflicts in relations. My theoretical perspective is one of a humanistic and relational approach while using cognitive behavioral therapy techniques. I also am trained in experiential therapies, which have proven to aid the client in exploring underlying issues. I believe that you do have the answers and I can assist you by joining in your process and continuing to help develop healthier coping skills to deal with your daily stressors!

If you would like to set up an appointment, please call Thank you and looking forward to meeting you. In my work, my overall hope is to assist others to attain an inner peace and security in who they are as a person in all environments. In doing this, I believe each person is fully capable of making productive and responsible changes in their lives when they choose to do so. I hope that time for you is now.

I have diverse experiences in working with children, adults, and families in both North Carolina and Florida. With a history of treating issues of ADHD, anxiety, mood disorders, abuse, trauma, and life transitions, I have a broad knowledge base in serving others. Hi all, and thank you for taking a look at our page. My name is Adam Kurtz, and have been living in North Carolina for the past 10 years. I firmly believe in the importance of each moment and the lessons we learn from our successes and losses.

They translate to our ability to steward greater responsibility. And this moment is certainly an honor. This experience is one for which I am prepared, supported and committed to continue learning. Who do you consider a mentor or role model?

How have they made a difference in your life? The role models with the deepest impact encouraged me to share my ideas and fostered a sense of pride and self-worth. That support has been a powerful force throughout my life. I am grateful to say my village is invested in my success. Chief among them is my Mom. My mom taught me to do all things in excellence.

She lives by example, modeling the importance of trusting yourself and holding firmly to what you believe. She instilled the importance of independence, taught me to speak my mind and to laugh and find joy even in difficult times. Everyone has something unique to offer. The role of an educator is to ensure the special aspect of each student is able to shine through in a safe environment. There is no experience on earth like being in a space that is created with the sole purpose of building a sense of self, pride and purpose.

Being a scholar and learner at a Historically Black University is an experience that has impacted my leadership, my confidence and helped me refine the way I communicate with and relate to the people and world around me. Having a sense and understanding of self before entering the world —either through college or career— will establish a strong foundation for the ways in which students show up in every space and place they enter.

For me, self-love is central to the development of the whole child and is central to the mission and vision of our school. STEAM education establishes a framework where students can experience concepts firsthand by developing solutions to real issues.

Understanding the impact of something you create builds a sense of self that encourages inquiry and discovery. STEAM is the vehicle for academic empowerment and ownership. Will I ever use this again? These are frequently asked questions in traditional classroom settings. But in a space where each aspect of the content contributes to something tangible, something the students get to craft and create, these questions are readily answered.

Ownership is a central component of project-based learning.
