Scarpetta los angeles brunch

Accompanying the meats were pickled mushrooms with thyme and toasted fennel seed, grilled asparagus with a tomato vinaigrette, and caramelized cauliflower with minted bread crumbs. While the vegetables were all very nice, the stars of the plate were the slices of meat. I loved how I could have my lamb and prime rib perfectly rare, while my dining companion could have hers medium.

My third plate looked kind of skimpy, but it delivered on all fronts. The chunky tomato sauce, which had a wonderfully rich and rounded flavor, clung tightly to the toothy spaghetti strands. I went back for seconds on the noodles and seriously considered thirds. Sharing porcelain real estate with the spaghetti were buffala ricotta raviolini with stewed baby tomatoes and two slices of bacon.

We both loved the truffle cheese with honey best. From the awesome spread, I chose a yuzu meringue tart, a blueberry rice pudding, a fruit tart, and a doughnut. The yuzu meringue tart, with its caramelized peaks and fruity filling, was easily one of my favorite bites. I also adored the vanilla custard-filled doughnut. It was impressively fluffy and absolutely light considering it had been sitting on the dessert table for a while. Come hungry and leave happy. We certainly did. Love your blog!

Your passion for food is something we feel sitting 2 continents away, especially pigging out on divine Sunday brunches we have a similar one at the Four Seasons in Bombay. My photographer friend Mariam and I also have a blog on eating out. Do check it out and if you like it do follow and share! Good to see the spaghetti retained its texture and flavor in a buffet atmosphere. Post a Comment. Tuesday, September 25, Scarpetta Brunch. First up, an impressive display of bread. The croissants were great as were the blueberry muffins, the foccacia not so much.

They also had stromboli. Two kinds of oysters were presented, Kushi and Blue Point. Both were very fresh and clean tasting. Cocktail shrimp were nice and plump and the wahoo crudo was accented very well by the olive oil and lemon zest. They apparently also have crab claws on some days.

Just a few of many plates. Try these pumpkin recipes and butternut squash recipes from celebrity chefs. Le Kool Champagne. Savor a food and wine feast at Fellow, a new fine dining restaurant in Los Angeles. Sunday Brunch at Scarpetta Beverly Hills. There is a new one at Montage Beverly Hills at its restaurant Scarpetta.

Chef Scott Conant , a lady killer, is not always there, but you may still enjoy his kitchen while he is busy touring his other Scarpetta restaurants or shooting his TV show. And I really mean his kitchen, as the savory buffet is actually displayed in the kitchen, a unique feature of which Montage owner Alan Fuerstman takes pride. Not too many restaurants can claim to have such a beautiful kitchen. We all wish we could have one like that.
